A review written for the Folk and Acoustic Music Exchange

Cynicism is not a virtue.

If the object of any market is to promote itself to broader markets then I have to believe that the brains behind this exquisitely presented DVD may have missed the boat, deciding only to preach to the large choir. But Krauss is such the talent and soul that I can't believe she didn't have only the best intentions. Because as beautiful as her voice and the songs are, as beautiful as she is, and as beautifully performed as everything here is, it sure doesn't pack the excitement I was hoping for.

Maybe that's my indefatigable ego flaring up but jeeess, couldn't we have had some of that snap, crackle, 'n pop of Krauss and Union Station live? It's all the same tempo and reverence here: every note intent, every word kind. C'mon, loosen up people! This intimate look into A Hundred Miles or More is just a little too…sleepy, a little too much like everyone was on their best behavior.
